CASE STUDY

Parlby

“The addition of this oak framed garden room has transformed the way in which the house is used both internally and externally in summer months. Arboreta created an all year round room that is loved and adored by the owners and guests alike.”

John Baker, our Designer, followed the brief and introduced a traditional Garden Room with glazing facing the lawn, large doors open to the terrace and we incorporated an exposed fireplace to the end elevation. To allow more light into the room we created angled glazing to the gable above the fireplace and left the oak rafters exposed to create the wow factor.

Nestled in a Sussex village, this brick built house is set in substantial grounds with lovely views over the countryside. Mr & Mrs Parlby wanted an extra room which would be filled with light, feel part of the garden and not be too hot in the Summer.

Inside the new garden room along the old existing house wall we carried the oak lines through by creating a part gable. This mimics the fireplace end and makes the room feel very traditional with lots of exposed oak beams.
